EPITHALON - 10mg
Epithalon is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) known for its potential anti-aging and telomere-lengthening effects. It was developed based on the natural epithalamin peptide produced in the pineal gland. The peptide was developed by the Khavinson group at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology in Russia as a synthetic analog of the active fragment of epithalamin, a pineal gland polypeptide extract characterized in the 1970s. Epithalon belongs to a class of compounds collectively known as “Khavinson bioregulators” — short peptides derived from organ extracts and proposed to function through tissue-specific gene expression modulation.
Benefits (Research Focus)
- Telomerase pathway research — studied for hTERT gene expression and telomerase enzyme activity in cell culture models
- Telomere biology — investigated for telomere length dynamics in somatic cell and stem cell research
- Pineal gland pharmacology — explored for pineal-derived peptide signaling and downstream melatonin pathway research
- Circadian rhythm research — examined for circadian gene expression and chronobiology endpoints
- Cellular senescence pathways — researched for senescence-associated gene expression in geroscience models
